Have you ever seen a Log Caone sail and race? Only sailed in the Chesapeake area, is a very special old tradition of the Log Canoe. Originally a fishing vessel in these waters, it became a race back to shore with the catch.
During saling, with each tack, a spring board is thrown to the opposite side, which catches a rim on the vessel. "Boardmen" climb out on the board to counterbalance the wind. A person can be sitting 14 feet out from the boat, suspended above the waves on a board, for a thrilling ride.
These studs match the other Log Canoe pieces, but to keep within a reasonable size, we removed the rope border. these measure5 /8 inch round. Sterling silver pop gun stud back.
